I dont know why this has happened, i cannot install any of my games or put any audio cd's in anymore

As a first try go to the Device Manager Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

Click the + next to DVD/CD drives and then click on this drive and choose uninstall then reboot your computer.

XP should reload the drivers. See if this helps.

Do you have more than one CD drive? JLMS Lite On appear to be one and the same.

Are they listed as two different drives?

If you uninstall the drive it will just force XP to reload the drivers on next boot.

If these are 2 different CD drives then click the one that is giving you problems.

If you only have one CD drive then uninstall both.

When you restart your computer XP will find and load what it finds.

That would be a first step yes.

Just out of curiosity you might first look in the Device Manager at

    +IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
    |-
    |-Secondary IDE Channel
    |-

Click that line & look for errors.

See if either will take a CD.
