my laptop me op. system, compaq re-booted with only half the screen filled. there is a two inch blackborder on a very small image approx 5x8". nothing in my help menu will work. help windows are too small to scroll to bottom to try changes. can not do a system restore as there are no previous dates.
any clues, any! will be appreciated.

you need to change the resolution. put it up one step first and see if that works. to change the resolution right click the desktop and select properties. choose settings and drag the screen resolution to the right to increase it.
