Windows restarts after login
Ok, here's the deal:
The other night I ran SpyBot and Ad-Aware to get rid of some spyware on my computer. Both said that there were some errors with my system32, and that the infected files would be deleted after a restart. So, I restarted the computer and clicked on my user name at the logon screen. It started loading, but soon after went right back to the logon screen. I tried to boot up in Safe Mode; same thing. I also tried to set it back to the last known good configurations, which didn't work either. So I got out the Windows XP CD, and started to do a System Restore. It asked for my Administrator password, which I did not know since I had never set one. I am trying to get my computer working again without losing any of my old files. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

I'm not positive about this but i think if you did not put in a password then just ignore it and continue.
I had a simular problem and i had to re-load xp with the repair program.

As revealtm said it should just be a case of hitting return when it asks for a password if you don't have an administrator account set.
A last resort could be to use a boot disk to get to a dos prompt then copy all of your important files on to another partition then format your main partition and reinstall windows from scratch.
