Hi, I'm wondering if you can help me out here. I've been having a problem with my Windows Media Player crashing and giving me an error report for a couple of months now. I originally thought that it was only when i tried streaming files, and as i used another player to play files on my computer i never checked it properly. I have now come to use it and i have found that every type of media causes it to crash bringing up an error report.

Event viewer shows error: 1000 and source: application error

If i send the microsoft error report i get a webpage telling me it is down to a piece of software called Morgan Stream Switcher which can be obtained from:

It also says there is a fix on the morgan multimedia website, which i have been unable to find so far. I have uninstalled the morgan plugin with no difference. I have reinstalled MP10. I uninstalled MP10, deleted the directory and then reinstalled but it is still the same.

Winamp works fine when playing media. However windows media player is the defaul streaming program and when i try to open a streaming file from IE or Firefox, media player crashes along with ever browser window open at the time.

If nobody knows what the problem is then does anybody know how to make Winamp my default streaming program and also if there are any plugins for winamp that enable DVD playback as these are the only 2 reasons i use MP10

Did you follow all these instructions as to uninstall Morgan:

If you want to remove our codec from your system you can :

1. Download and install our MJPEG codec from: http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/download/m3jpegv3.exe
and then unsinstall it.

or
2. If 1. does not work, search for files M3JPEG32.dll, M3JPEGdecVFW.ax, M3JPEGencVFW.ax and MMIJG32.dll on your hard disk and delete them.



Several "codec packs" include another one of our products which is freeware and called "Morgan Stream Switcher". You might encounter problems using codec pack's version of "Morgan Stream Switcher" with Windows Media Player 9 or 10.

I have had the same problem here. Windows media player versions 9&10 do not work properly with the morgan multimedia streaming codec. The Website gives you instructions on how to uninstall it, which is no problem. Does anyone have any idea where i can get a substitute program to work together with the newest windows media player?
