    Exclamation so many problems HELP

    HI
I really hope that someone can help me because i am at my wits end,any help is greatly appreciated, and please use the simplist explanations possible, 'cos im not computer wise.
thanks a million in advance to any advice or help.

My hard drive died, i had a new one out into my Dell Inspiron laptop.
1)Then i downloaded Windows XP home twice by accident, how do i delete it?
2)The whole thing takes ages to do anything like close a window. And the screen resolution shrinks-to a small screen in the middle of the moniter, and the colour goes funny- the minute i access the internet?? but its a large screen the rest of the time.
3)Also i cant access msn messanger, it says i have an "invalid IP address" or i should "check my fire wall settings" or " .NET messanger failed because the service isnt compatible with this version of the programme"---please help me i dont even know how to find my IP address or fire wall settings on my laptop!!

please please help me im literally lost without my laptop

Ok, this sounds like an error due to the two operating systems. Im just wondering if maybe you installed the operating systems on the same partition and formatted them in FAT. Are they on two seperate partitions? How did you hard drive 'die'? Did it just stop working all together?

I would suggest reinstalling XP as a clean install. Backup any valuable data then start from scratch.

    The Dell instructions are here:
