keep being denied access to things ,being told i have insufucient rights.
cannot find administrator account,not showing in accounts .
have tried several suggestions but get so far and then message saying insufficient rights
is displayed.
we have run scans and checked printer for bugs etc but have found nothing.
we have also lost use of our printer and cannot add printer it just will not let us.
printer icon not showing.

Does all of this relate to your printer?

Insufficient rights is generally an application error as opposed to Windows (XP).

If this all applies to your printer I would uninstall it and all of its' software then reboot and reinstall per the manual.

Uninstall via Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

As to the Admin account: Is this XP Home or Pro?

Are you used to seeing this account?

The built-in Admin account is hidden by default.

In Home it is accessible via Safe Mode.

In Pro you can use:

start/run control userpasswords2

We have tried uninstalling and reinstall but it will not reinstall printer.

Did you try in Safe Mode to logon to the main Administrator account. Not your usual account but Administrator. This is only accessable in Safe Mode.
