Do you have a full version XP CD?

You should actually write the password down so that you do not forget it. Did you check to make sure that caps lock was not on? if using numbers, is NUM lock on? maybe your typing in the right password, just not in the right way. How many users are on the computer? If you have another account that has admin rights, you can just go into that account and change your admin password to something that you can remember. *of course this is the fastes way to do it w/o having to use your xp disk.
