i need help again please!
ok, i tried to install some drivers for a wirelees usb adapter, and now my computer will only boot up in safe mode. if i try to boot up normal it goes black just before the the welcome screen and stays that way. i tried to do system restore to before the driver install, and that didn't help, any ideas? thanks for the help.

From the Safe Mode option screen did you try:
Start Last Known Good Configuration?
Also in Safe Mode proper can you locate the drivers to uninstall?
You say you tried to install drivers? Was there a problem? Or did they supposedly install OK?
You can also check your Device Manager in Safe Mode: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc
Check Display Adapters (click the +)
Also what is your Graphics Card? You may need to reinstall those drivers.

yes i tried to restart from last known good configuration. I also tried to uninstall the drivers, that didn't help. And yse it "said" the drivers were installed "ok". the only problem device manager reports is with the usb adapter because i uninstalled the drivers for it. And my graphics card is a "NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro (microsoft Corporation)" whitch Device manager says is "working properly".

Here is the last driver for that card. I would try reinstalling it:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html
Also Please make sure to read the Driver Installation Hints Document before you install this driver.

Try start > run > msconfig
BOOT.INI and un-check /SafeBoot. Apply/Ok: reboot.
If it was already unchecked go to Right click My Computer the click Properties
Startup and Recovery > System Startup > Edit
Post back (copy & paste) that window that pops up. boot.ini

OK ... that is as it should be.
Do you have an XP Home CD or was XP preinstalled on your computer?
If the latter what is the make and model and what disks came with it?

my computer origonaly had windows 98 on it but i took it to a competer repair store and they put windows xp on it, but they didn't give me any disks. i tried to take it back to them when i had the sound card prolem ut they either moved or went out of buissness because they are no longer at that lacation.
