I recently could not access the Internet. After checking with my ISP, they determined that I was connected and it was likely my Norton Antivirus. I uninstalled Norton and then could access the Internet, however I could not access any symantec or most other antivirus sites. Also when I tried to run msconfig or regedit, the program would try to start, but then quickly shut down. I could not reinstall my Norton, probably because my computer would not let me access their site for registration. I did finally get into Trend Micro and did an online scan that found and deleted TROJ_TOTACITY.A, but that did not change anything. I then saw an error message about pstord.exe must shut down. I can't run HijachThis because it runs and shuts down right away. Please help

Try running HijackThis in Safe Mode.

If that doesn't work rename HijackThis to anything else e.g. Rodeo.exe
