Re: Serious Crash XP two harddrives
yeah, that's what I figured I would do I'll just let it go while I'm gone.

Thanks for all your help, I learned a lot.
-
what spyware program do you use, I have spyware doctor I was told it was the best so I bought it.
-
No Problem. Let us know how you get on.
-
I use AVG anti virus & an old Sygate firewall.
Then run Spybot S&D and AdAware
HERE
as well as Spyware Blaster

Spyware Doctor looks good from the web site.

I reformatted and reinstalled xp pro, upgraded to sp2 and copied and installed most of the programs I had in the previous installation, still running fast, but I have a question:
I noticed that when I set a family account that it runs slow, why is this and what can I do to fix this?
I turned off fast user switching but that shouldn't matter that much, because it's slow when you're in the family account, I don't care how long it takes to load it.

Just to clarify: you set up a limited user account? Not the Guest account.
The Guest account is extremely limited by design and usually disabled.
If you did set a limited user then try to set up another just to see if it will work better.
-
yes I set up a limited user account, and it works rather slow, I thought maybe it had something to do with the very strict policies I had for this account but that's not the case, and lately I've been getting error messages from dr watson what's that about?
I've been trying to play avi files from one hard drive on another and sometimes it says error wmp needs to be closed then drwtsn pops up?
-
-
well now everytime I watch these avi files it says WMP has created an error and will shut down, the funny thing is it only does it after the avi file has been played and I try to resume playing music.
Should I reinstall WMP 10?
