    Unhappy SonicStage v1.5

I have tried several times to install this program on my new dell and it gives me error messages. I contacted Sony, they suggested installing in another computer. I did, on a dell with windows ME and it works fine. I cannot contact dell since they charge you a FEE for just calling them!! Any help out there?? Thanks.

Can you please post the verbatim error messages?

It starts to install and then I see this: parentkey:-2147483646,HKLM:2147483646
    subkey:software\sonycorporation\memorystickformatt er\MGFMTCMD\sony_NW-MS9
then a window pops up with:debug RegCreateKeyExError and a window that says:cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key. And the installation is terminated.

This is a new Dell under warranty I presume and you cannot get free Dell support?

I find that appalling myself. Anyway if you want to try a fix I would first off run this Registry Backup:

[ERUNT] Registry Backup and Restore for Windows
    http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

    [ERUNT Download URLs]
    http://www.aumha.org/downloads/erunt.zip

    http://www.silentrunners.org/sr_eruntuse.html
    http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-on...runt/erunt.txt

    Followed by this Registry Cleaner:

    RegSeeker

Remove all it finds. It also creates a backup within the program. Reboot the computer then try to install again. If you have any other immediate issues restore the registry from the backup in RegSeeker or the Backup created by ERUNT.
