it should say in the consoles' manual, to upgrade to aol broadband, it's £17.99 a month (£14.99 for 1st 6 months) and you get a free modem, although i would not recommend aol.... unless you enjoy trouble shooting problems

yeha but i dont have a joice my parents wanna stick wit asol becuz its cheaper i guess but do u know how t oplug in evrything t oplay xbox live? I jus wanna play that halo 2 i played it before and it rocks!
EFH is cheaper: http://www.efhbroadband.com/freedom.asp
(for broadband anyway) £14.99 a month, free connection, up to 10x dial-up speeds and the best thing is ITS UNLIMITED! this means you can use it as much as you want and not get charged extra
Free setup only available when paying quarterly.
Its worth looking into, we might be changing to it soon![]()
you will probably have to look in your manual to see the correct set-up, have you got a spare ethernet port? it sgould have a logo as shown here: http://library.webster.edu/pcguide/i...ernet_port.jpg
wow lol unlimited that sounds like a deal, im gonna convince my parents to switch to that broadband, have u guys tryed to play xbox live on aol broadband? oh and wat is efh? and if i get it will it let me play xbox? oh and i think i do have a extra ethrenet its next t omy dial up outlet. oh and i looked up the site of EFH.. it seems like a great deal but if i get the freedom 512k which says its up to 10x dial up speeds/
i havnt got an xbox and i dont use my ps2 for online gaming..... it shouldnt matter what ISP you have, as long as you have a fast enough connection.
EFH is just the make (like AOL)
yes, the 512k is 10x the speed of dial-up...... we might be switching to that soon
Check that it has the right logo next to it ( http://library.webster.edu/pcguide/i...ernet_port.jpg the one with the arrow pointing to it, it may be hard to see, depending on your modem.)oh and i think i do have a extra ethrenet its next t omy dial up outlet
also, the best thing about broadband is that you can use the phone at the same time
Hope this helps,

oh ic yeah i got that on my computer thanx that really helps, EFH is better than the connection i have which is aol 9.0 optimized.. ic and aol does have a lot of trouble shoot i cant stand it so im gonna try to get EFH, it seems like the same price but a faster connection, so the 512k is fast enough to operate xbox live? and would i need a modem for it?
yes, the 512k SHOULD be fast enough for xbox live and yes you will need a modem, when you select your broadband, it will ask you for a phone number to see if it is available in your area, where it says "Please choose an ADSL Package:" select "Freedom 512"so the 512k is fast enough to operate xbox live? and would i need a modem for it?
the next option says "Please select what hardware you require (if any):" select the top option for £34.99 inc. delivery
or, you can buy your own ADSL modem, you will also need to purchase a microfilter that plugs into your phone line and you plug your phone and modem into that (otherwise you will get interference)
Hope this helps,

also, you will need the MAC code, to get this, phone up AOL and ask them for it, it can take anything from 5-15 days to arrive and is only valid for 30 days when you recieve it.
what is a mac code and how do i find it?Originally Posted by madmikejt12
