Yes, I had been there and was concerned at first with it being firmware, but I have now tried it , and I still have the same problem.

I would recommend removing all third party DVD/CD software: e.g. Nero etc.

After using Add/Remove Programs also do a Search from start search e.g. Nero etc. deleting all remnants.

Also after this run a registry cleaner such as:

RegSeeker

Again after this Delete the drive from the Device Manager and restart.
