You have the XP Media Center Edition?

Again I would trust your manual on this. Can you find any info on the D: partition?
no its not the media centre edition, i never wanted this, its just Windows XP home edition. ive looked in manuel and there is nothing on it (the d: ) wat so ever there is a small a5 size note which came saying about how they have split the hdd into 2 partion, c: for windows and D: for DATA. it just says it does this for protection of your persanall important data, and less reasons for making backups.. it all sounds well but, i think the reason my pc crashed in the first place the other day was because this folder (in d 'martyn britton' became for wat ever reason 'unreadable' thus making windows unstable and unable to boot, as it is a docs and sets system folder i dont know, im just lost with it all, maybe i should just leave it? but i think it is now reason for making my pc 'hang' and run slow? i dont know

    lol.
Yer it seems very complecated, even to me, And i had a hard-drive that needed formatting each week lol.

So in your D:\ is there a folder called Documents and settings?

In your C:\ you should also find a Documents and Settings, and a Windows Folder.

yes i think that is best solution for me, the shop PCworld where i purchased the system has a in store pc clinic, maybe i should take it to them, or phone them up. because it doesent sound normal to have the documents and settings on the data partition does it? have you or anyone heard of this before??

yes in D: there is documents and settings, and there is no documents and settings in C:
C: has the program files, windows, apps, etc etc etc.. but no docs and sets on c: only one which is on D:? weird huh?
