    Smile xpsp2 upgrade problem

Upgraded motherboard to gigabyte ga-k8vm800m after power got old mb and chip and ps
    upgraded processor to sempron 2600+
    xp home sp1
    256 meg ram
did repair install xp home to load proper drivers for chipset video etc
    activated windows after hardware change
did spyware and virus scans with
    Adaware se
    Spybot Search and destroy
    Avast 4 home
cleaned all problems found with reboots in between scans for all users individually
    reran all scans

    installed sp2 on machine

    went into continuous reboot

turned off auto restart on error

    can boot to safe mode

get stop 0x0000007e 0xc0000005 variable variable variable

event viewer in safe mode shows event id 7026 in Service Contol Manager
    with text
the following drivers failed to load
    AFD
    Fips
    IPSec
    MRxSMB
    Netbios
    NetBt
    Processor
    RasAcd
    Rdbss
    Tcpip
    WS2IFSL

    Problem resolved
was driver conflict caused by changing from intel chipset and celeron
to via chipset and sempron on new mb
found by running hardware info on gigabyte driver install cd for mb

tried to setup new hardware profile and redectect - partially worked

had to rename intel drivers in %windir%\system32\drivers\
changed last letter on each intel file extension to 1
then had to turn off windows file protection and purge cache to keep files from being replaced
    commands at start then run

    sfc /revert

    then

    sfc /PurgeCache

have had to reload some via drivers and the raid scsiport is still causing a conflict

    any better ideas?

    Just to clarify:
the raid scsi port is still causing a conflict
Is this the only outstanding issue?

Did you install the RAID drivers with XP at the F6 prompt?

    Sorry for the delay

had raid and the ata serial ports disabled in bios on xp repair

enabled after installed driver in xp after repair

board has option of raid or ide

    set to ide

board was replaced in emachine for an old friend after power surge

had latent traces of hotbar and lop and egroup but could not update defs on the machine except by hand

    cleaned up now

    thanks for the help
