    Angry Redmond Rookie

Greetings! first post. Windows XP Pro OS
Standalone home computer, about 5 active users a few more on the start page. Problem: I hate Yahoo!! It's like a weed with all the BS it adds ie toolbars, pop-up's etc. My daughter who knows my admin. password likes to talk with her friends using Yahoo Instant messenger, which I deleted last month. She simply loaded it on and now it's on everybodies account. Nearly everyone is a limited account user.
Question: How can I allow her access & use to Yahoo Instant Messenger and restrict ALL OTHER USERS the grief of seeing Yahoo POP-UPS and other YahOO crap that they don't ever use.
At least not at this time?
Since she reloaded the program using my administrator account I think the yahoo crap is on EVERY OTHER USERS ACCOUNT even though SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON OF 7 THAT ACTUALLY USES Yahoo!
Thanks for any REAL help, sympathy gladly accepted.

Since she reloaded YIM using your admin account it was probably created for All Users.

My first try would be to remove it again from your account (all users) then you as administrator reinstall it on her personal account.

Also if you choose advanced instructions during the install you can eliminate all the Yahoo yahoo's and simply choose to install the messenger.

After you remove from your (all users) account and before you reinstall on hers I would also go to start | search yahoo and remove any residue.

I would also run a registry cleaner such as:

    http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

Choosing all green entries. (Safe to go).
