Can you access the BIOS Setup? Press Esc. Also there is a diagnostic program accessible by pressing F10.

    Are you unable to boot?

What exactly is happening with your machine?

Why won't it run off of AC?

    What happens when you try?

Did you try the Fn/F11 reset?

    hi jephree
the laptop will not work off the ac.so it's not changing the battrey. my mate has got the same laptop as me.I tryed his lead and charger with no luck.but the battrey will charge is hiss laptop.so it's not the lead oo ccharger or battrey at fault.
its to do with the laptop.
i did take out the battrey to se if it will work off the ac but it will not.
    thanks

    See if anything here helps.

When pressing the notebook power button nothing is displayed on the screen or display. The cause of this problem is either failed AC adapter or a failed notebook system board component which will require an HP certified repair.
If your adapter is fine then unfortunately it looks like the board needs work
