I have a new computer. My problem is I do not know what version of internet explorer I have. Can anyone tell me how to find this information on my computer?

The leading paragraph of a HijackThis log will tell you:

http://www.isecurity.org.uk/downloads/hijackthis.exe

It is also dependent on your version of XP. XP SP2 loads the latest IE:

MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)

Open Internet Explorer click help scroll down to about Internet Explorer. First line in that window.
