i have already figured it out, what i had to do is delete virtual device driver value, create a new virtual device driver key in the control section of this registry value that i have listed below, type VDD for the value. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD
    please reply a.s.a.p. sincerely,slowjoe

I also am having this problem. I tried to use your resolution but got stuck on #14. I can't find the config.nt file. What do I do?
I looked in all files of windows explorer. Would they have another name?
    Thank you

Just to verify: You ran this command: expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt

When you browse to the file in Windows Explorer click on the System32 folder. Do not expand(+) it. Click on the folder icon itself then scroll down to config.nt

You should also find it by start/search config.nt
Make sure you are set to search all hidden files & folders as well as Operating System files.

These are by default hidden. You can change these settings via:
start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View

what you can do is open up my documents,go to the tab that says tools, click folder options, click on the view tab, make sure that you select show hidden files, folders.

Did you change your view file settings?

From start/search check your options: All files and folders | More advanced options | Search system folders | Search hidden files and folders | Search subfolders

    Then type in config.nt
