Windows Xp Keeps Rebooting

Re: Windows Xp Keeps Rebooting

Hi:
I tried the recovery program; but I am still not able to see my old desktop or
the two folders I am looking for.
I have my 80gb drive set up as a slave and I can see it only has about 8gb free; but
when I go into the windows program files or any othre place I am not able to find
my files. Everytime I click on the username "tito" it does not let me see the files/setup that I had for that username.
I went back and did a "fresh windows" install with a different username; but I still
have not access to the username "tito", even though the hardrive shows it has
some stuff in it.
I also try the "search" feature in windows looking for everything(hidden files, windows
video/audio files, etc) and came up empty.
Please advise.
Thanks

Sorry for my confusion but would like to clarify the current setup.
You have the 20G set as Primary Master with XP installed. This is your boot drive.
You have the 80G set as Secondary Master.
You boot the 20G then search the 80G from the 20G. Is this correct? I am confused by your saying that you installed XP anew on the 80G?
In general the data on the 80G should be accessible from the 20G as long as you are running XP off of the 20G.
The only other thing that I can think of is that you have the same name on two accounts. Is "Tito" an account on both drives? If so that might be the "drive not accessible or in use" message.
Perhaps move the 80G to Primary slave (change jumpers) just to see.

Hi:
I am running the 20gb as a master and the 80gb as a secondary with the
jumpers set up to "slave"; but you are correct about the message
"drive not accessible or in use". Everytime I click on the username folder
named "tito" I am can not open it.
Thanks

I would suggest setting the 80 to Secondary Master (change jumpers and plug in the end (black plug) of the secondary cable: most likely your current DVD/CD drive).
After this I would also suggest trying to change the name of the 80 account from Tito to something else. Right click the folder and see if you can rename. If not possible then rename the account on the 20. Perhaps these two accounts with the same name are causing issues.

Hi:
I need help again.
I am able to see my 80gb HD, which shows 70gb being occupied; but I can not
access the desktop of that Windows Installation.
I can not access the username "T I T O" folder to see the desktop where I have
my "family pictures folder".
Is there a way to access a corrupted Windows Installation's Desktop without access
to a the username?
Please advise.
Thanks

I posted this before but am not sure if you ever followed the steps:

Another possibility is to run a Search from start Search and enter the photo file type e.g. .jpg and specify the search only for the drive in question e.g. E:
