i do have an extra ribbion. i didnt change the old one when i replaced the HDD

so i cheaked connections then i replaced the HDD ribbion with the new one and when i started it up i got this

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device

media test failed? has it just crashed? also before when it finished BIOS it wouldnt make a beep but now it makes a beep and it goes to the BIOS screen before it would just be the intel screen whats that about?

Check your BIOS Boot Menu.

It should read:

1. Floppy

2. CD

3. Hard drive

If there is a PXE (Intel (R) Boot Agent) listed remove it.

Also in the BIOS Setup is a choice whether to see the Logo/splash screen or view the POST directly.

but hraddrive isnt even one of the choices

So I guess the BIOS is not recognizing the hard drive?

Does it recognize the DVD/CD?

If yes take the cable out of the DVD/CD and place it in the hard drive.

See what happens then.

yea it sees the cd, should i move anyhting on the mother board?

is it ok sence the cd cable is a different kind of cable its got like black around it andlooks nother likethe HDD cable. could i use the flopy ribbion?
