    Hello Nigel!

    - Do you have any ati-virus system running? The behaviour described by you may be caused by some malicious programs (viruses, spyware, etc.)

    - How do you connect to the internet (DSL [directly to the modem, through the router, through another computer], CABLE, DIAL-UP)?

    - To check if that is a DNS issue try opening these sets of websites:
    http://www.google.ca and http://216.239.57.104
    http://diggtheblog.blogspot.com/ and http://64.191.203.30

If the websites don't open using the word-alike-address but open using the numbers-alike-address
    then follow these instructions:

    - Go to "start"->"run"->type "cmd"->click on "OK", now in the command prompt type "ipconfig
    /flushdns" (without the quotation marks).

And the last step you can try is to use different (maybe even better) browser, like Mozilla Firefox!
You can download it for FREE from here: http://www.mozilla.com/products/down...win&lang=en-US

    Good luck!
