Please Help I have lost my sart menu button ,taskbar, mouse cusour, and desk icons.. I know there is something very simple you can do with the keyboard but I cannot recall what I press on the keyboard to make all of this come back.pls help all thanx so much

i do not know if this will help but i had friend who had same problem. she had a file called antiav.exe loaded and when i stopped it running via "start, run, msconfig and in startup i unchecked this file and her icons etc came back to normal. i don't know what this file did or does but she has no problems now.

Also bear in mind that this is often caused by viruses. Run your favorite scans please.

I cannot use the pc at all to click on anything to go to these web sites pls how or what can I do I have no taskbar no start button no icons all i have is a mouse cursor and I cannot right click pls help

Press Ctrl + Esc. Do you get the start menu?

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Do you get the Task Manager option?

If not you probably need to repair or reinstall XP.

If you have a full version retail XP CD run a Repair Install as described here:

yes when I press ctrl alt delete I do get the task manager,,,if I press ctrl esc I do not get the start menu

In the Task Manager click File then New Task (Run...) & type explorer.exe

you see antiav.exe is actually a worm. Its the Rusty@m Worm. Remove it ASAP.
