MY computer has become extremely slow. Have run spy detectors and cleaned stuff, but its still slow. Its 400000K/559908K, and this how it is most of the time.

Any ideas?

How much RAM do you have?

Did this machine work better previously?

256 RAM, deffinitely did work faster previously.

What is your general CPU usage?

If it is over a few % with no major apps running look at the Processes tab & see what is using it.

Also check your page file size via: start/ rt. click My Computer/ Properties/ Advanced/ Performance/ Settings/ Advanced/ Virtual Memory/ Change/ System Manage Size

Also how much free space is on your hard drive? XP also uses your hard drive to store virtual memory.

And also for the "why not" of it run a HijackThis scan in our HijackThis section:
