The desktop icons have all taken on the same aprearance, all very generic in aperance. The only icons that have remained the same are the Internet explorer and the recycle bin. If I go to any ucon to pull up the program it will not work. For it to work I must browse and locate the actual exe file and then invoke the program. I have tried to recover but it does not work. I have run virus scans in safe mode and in normal operating mode and nothing has appeared. I would appreciate any assistance...thanks Tom...

These are symptoms of malware infections. You should consider posting a HijackThis log in our HijackThis section:


Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
