I ve had this problem for around a month now were when I go to shutting down/restart my computer and it gets stuck on windows is shutting down. Its a windows Home with SP2.
This means I cant do system restores etc.

Thanks for your help. I tried most of the things on that page but nothing has changed but, when I booted in safe mode and then click reboot, I hadn't any problems.
May posting a startup list would help. A hijack this log? I'll post one just in case.
I moved your log to the HijackThis section. Perhaps the pros there will have an idea.
I just noticed the massive use of McAfee![]()
Did you uncheck the auto-restart setting?
rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart
The fact that it works OK in Safe Mode indicates a driver that is hanging & or crashing/rebooting at shutdown.
Let's see what comes of the HijackThis log.
Yeh mcafee uses lots. I went over to them because my programs (anti virus-spyware-firewall) were confilicting alot and slowing my computer buy mcafee uses loadz.Originally Posted by jephree
