When it asks you for the program to open it with, choose which ever one it needs and tick the box which says always use this program.

I did tick the box, it will open once, but next time I try to open it asks me the same thing.

Only other suggestion I have is to open windows explorer/tools/folder option and check the default program for opening each entry in it. If its incorrect, change it to the correct one.

What browser are you using? MS IE (version/sp?), Mozilla Firefox(?), etc. It may be a browser specific setting you have to look for.

In 98/98SE there was an IE Repair Tool. I booted my XP-Home machine and looked around but could not find it. There are people in this forum with MUCH more XP experience than I have so you may want to wait for further opinions. The only thing I have to suggest at this point would be an XP repair (via booting with the CD and choosing Repair).
