taskbar freezes when usin dial-up

    Unhappy taskbar freezes when usin dial-up

    am usin win xp pro and the taskbar always freezes whenever i connect to the internet usin dial-up, i tried reinstallin the modem's driver (motorola sm56 speakerphone) thinkin this might solve the problem but it didnt
    and everythin returns to normal once i disconnect, plz help!!!! thx

    Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously?

    Here is a quick try:

    To resolve the problem, go to Control Panel, Administrative
    Tools, Services. In the list, look for the following services:
    * IPv6 Helper Service
    * SSDP Discovery Service
    * Univeral Plug and Play Device Host


    With each of the services that you find do the following:
    double-click on it to open it, stop it if it is running, and
    change its Startup type to Disabled.
