Question Problems with Service pack 2

Every Time I install service pack 2 my PC Crashes 9 times out of 10
when I try to get into the control panel, forcing me to reboot .
When I uninstall everything is fine again.
I've tried setting the pc back to factory settings and installing the
    service pack again
    but the same thing happens.
Has anyone had the same problem or is there a fix ?
    Would appreciate any Help
    Thanks

I think sp2 is a bit of a lottery. Some people have installed in with no problems, other run into major problems. gamers dont like it, file-sharers loathe it and some general joe's just run into major problems. I have a disc with it on, in my bag, but thats where it will stay. If its causing you to crash, id dump it. If you want a FREE pop-up blocker, go here http://toolbar.google.com/ and if you want a decent FREE!! personal firewall, go here http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm . I think I'm going to wait until other non-MS applications are fixed to accomodate and work properly with sp2.

    Thanks for your advice
I've already got the google tool bar & Sygate firewall.
Also avg anti virus & adaware.
I just might take your advice and stay with service pack 1.
untill they sort service pack 2 out.
In the mean time i've put a block on service pack 2
so i still get the updates for service pack 1
The Block sould last till march next year.

Will let you know if i get the problem sorted.
