Help needed as I cannt install Netgear software

i have puchased Netgear WGR614 to network and work wirelessly at home. When I insert the CD installation disk i get the following
    Please Wait

    The Installation Assistant is loading

Note: If this page displays for more that 30 seconds, the Installtion Assistant cannot start.

Some popup ad blocker and spyware blocker software prevent this software from running.

If you have installed popup ad blocker or spyware blocker software on this PC, disable these services until after you complete the router setup.

I turned off windows firewall. The pc runs McAffee security centre. Any ideas on getting Netgear to load please?

Did you turn off McAffee? Also the SP2 popup blocker? Also any other blockers that you may have?

I am also having trouble , I turned off the firewall and it says you dont use the disc if connecting to a wireless router. im stuck It shows McAfee at the bottom but I havent opened it. It is a new laptop and it was on there when I got it. So does that mean I still need to turn it off? Also what is PS2? Do I use the NETGEAR cd, then hold down the dtrl key while it is loading? Once it is on then do I connect to the internet? I am so confused!! Can someone please help me with this???

Right click the McAfee icon & exit or disable or turn off (temporarily).

The Installation Assistant should tell you what to do.

Where do you get the message: "dont use the disc if connecting to a wireless router"?

PS2 is a connector/port type usually for keyboards & mice. Unless you mean Play Station 2?

So basically run the CD & see what happens. Although I am confused by the "dont use" message. Where does that come from?

Thank you very much for your help and getting back to me. If I'm not mistaken , it says that when you have the disc in and it does the wizard. I finally got it though I read the other persons answer about holding down the ctrl button while the wizard comes up to bypass the blockers. I also looked at the McAfee program and done exit on it. Thank you so much. Hope you have a great day. Joyce
