XP and SIS530/620 compatability
I upgraded to XP and now the Audio Card does not work properly. Can anyone help me?

What is the make & model of computer? The manufacturer's site would be the best source of drivers.
If a custom build what is the make & model of the motherboard?
Just to clarify:
The SIS 530/620 is an onboard sound chip? Or do you have a PCI sound card?

My computer is an Aptiva E seris 190. I looked on the IBM site and did not find anything
-
I cannot find that model at IBM either.
Downloads and drivers:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...&validate=true
Perhaps the Product Number would help:
How to determine your machine type, model number, and serial number - Aptiva
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...id=LANS-3YBSKQ
Or next step is to ID the motherboard. Run this scan: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
What is listed under Main Circuit Board?

I checked out the IBM download site and my computer's technology is not compatible.
The model and serial information is as follows:
2170 190
AF2DZ20
Motherboard :
Acer V75M-1
Bus Clock: 100 MH
Bios: ACER V3.2 V75EN4C 08/24/99

The only luck I am having is this general driver for the SIS 530/620 chipset:

Neither IBM nor Acer nor SIS have any info on this chip set circa 2001.
I would try the above driver. Otherwise:
Do you have no sound at all? What is listed under DXDIAG?
Start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound
Also check your Device Manager: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc | Sound

Last night I made a mistake when I typed in Audio driver. The SIS530/620 is for Display. When I try to look at the properties of the Display in my control panel all I can access is the themes that are on my computer. It will not show me anything else. I do not know what is causing this problem or how to fix it, Consequesntly I can not access the driver and can not fix the problem. Any suggestions....except get a new computer?

The SIS 530/620 is the chipset on your motherboard. It would handle audio & video.
Are you saying that you have no audio problems?
And you are saying that the Display tabs are not functioning? Not present?
Try Safe Mode if you are having display problems while troubleshooting.
Did you try this driver:
