hello again
i have copied a lot of picures and files from my office in work onto a phillips dvd+rw disk. took it home to put onto my laptop at home and it doesent work?? any sugestions anyone? my dvd drive on my laptop is a QSI DVD-ROM SDR-081 its not a dvd burner or a cd burner, but it does play dvd's. does it have to be a dvd burner as well to be able to run dvd+rw disks? it plays dvd's fine through win dvd. any help at all would be very much appreiciated.. thankyou very much for reading.. and thanx again jephree (if u read this) for fixing my graphics problem![]()
The only specs I can find for that DVD-ROM :
http://www.netcomdirect.com/qusddvnodrs.htmlDVD (12 centimeter (cm) and 8 cm)
CD-ROM (12 cm and 8 cm)
CD-R
CD-RW
To check if the data is readable right click the drive under My Computer with a disk in & choose Explore. If the files are listed then the disk is being read & the issue is elsewhere. If there is no data listed then the disk is not being read. It could be that that drive cannot read DVD+RW or perhaps just the particular brand of disk you have used.
& thanks again for the thanks!![]()
hi jephree
the disk is fine as ive tried it on a friends computer, he had dvd rw drive, which is why i wondered if u have to have a rw dvd drive to read dvd+rw.? i put the disk in and after it spins for a while nothing happens (with other disks, ie cd-rom i get the autoplay option on what i want to do, open folder. open with wmp etc etc.) then i click to explore and it says please enter a disk into drive dvd drive d: ??
the only thing i think it could be, is a region thing, as ive checked in device manager and my drive is locked to region 2.? does dvd+rw disks go on regions.? im not sure.. i know that region 2 is uk. i dont know, i cant seem to find any info on the net about the driveoh well never mind. thanx any way jephree
