I use a ram optimizer to keep my memory where it belongs.. what should I do in order not to need that program?
Thanks
Duke
Why did you feel that you needed it in the first place?
One basic setting to have is:
Right click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change > choose System managed size > Set > OK > Apply > OK etc.
I did what you told me... and it didn't work
Thanks anyway..I appreciate it.

In what way did it not work?
Are you saying that you could not set that setting? What happened? Any error message?
What is the current setting?

I don't see any settings. It is still happenning... the memory booster comes up and starts
fooling around and drives me crazy...I am afraid to remove it..as it seems I need it.
If you coud explain the settings I would appreciate it...

According to this thread ram optimizers don't work and can even make things worse.
I am not sure why you think you need this program? Jaynee's link is a good read. XP can handle the memory quite well.
On the Virtual Memory page there is either:
Custom size:
System managed size:
No paging file:
Below that there is the current setting:
Currently allocated:
Perhaps your program is overwriting these options.![]()
i would delete this program. You should have no need for it.
