when i start with old OS it is starting well.
but the screen is not fit to monitor size it is sliced all four sides.
i have seen display options but there are no option called "advanced" or anything it seems to be corrupted.

    Download the latest Compaq drivers:

    http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/fi...63_1009.html#5

    HOW TO USE:

    http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/fi...oad/11021.html

After installing a fresh set of drivers, right-click on your
desktop and select Properties > Settings, change the Color
Quality to "Highest (32 bit), then adjust your Screen Resolution
to your liking, then click on Apply.

This should resolve your display issue.

    As to your half XP

That is very curious. Are you saying that when you boot you get a choice of which XP to boot?

Why did you try to reinstall? Why did you stop? Are they both on the same partition?
