    Error in Winsock Driver Page

I keep getting an Error in Winsock Driver Page with Memory Access(0x00008FA1) unknown!

The message goes on to say that my firewall and or anti-virus may be blocking my system file service.exe. Make sure that services.exe can connect to the internet.

Can anybody help me fix this problem?

Is this a new problem? Were things OK previously? Any coincidental changes?

What Anti-Virus are you running? What Firewall?

    Go to start/run & type in services.exe

    What happens?

Please post any error messages verbatim.

It is a new problem. I had to deinstall Norten 2005 because Liveupdate wouldn't work properly. I am running ZoneAlarm for my Firewall. I have tried doing the start run as you suggested and nothing happens.

I am running ZoneAlarm as my firewall. I had to deinstall Norton 2005 as Liveupdate wasn't working properly. When I do start and run nothing happens and this is a new problem.

Have you tried (as a test) turning off ZoneAlarm?

How did you uninstall Norton? Did you reinstall?

Uninstalling and reinstalling Norton AntiVirus 2005

Doing the start/run services.exe would have started services.exe. If you received no error then we can assume that services.exe is running. But apparently not connecting to the internet.
