Hi

My laptop has stopped me from installing any new software!

Tried to install photoshop but it just didn't get anywhere.
Just tried to install xfire, and the same thing!

Is there a service that controls all installs?

I have changed a few services to enable my laptop to work at its' optimum, but I fear I may have changed a service that allows installation of software.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I have, is this checked through user accounts? If so then I do have admin rights. Unless there is a service or setting in the registry that can stop my admin rights.

I am the only user and have been able to install stuff previously.

In Services make sure Windows Installer is set to Manual.

windows installer service is already set to manual.

If this problem coincided with your change of services I would suggest going back & setting all to default:
