I have a new HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One printer. I have yet to be able to print with it. I am running Windows XP professional with SP2. I can copy with the printer and can initiate a scan from the Camara and Scanner Wizard but cannot initiate a scan from the printer itself. I can fax fine.
The problem is that I cannot print. I receive the message "Cannot install this hardware. HP Officejet 6200 series. An error occured during the installation of this device. the specified port is unknown." I have spent five hours over two calls with HP Tech support and online chat. I have yet to be able to print the first time with this printer. I have done everything I know to do, except to yet call Microsoft Tech Support and to do anything with the registry.
Suggestions please? Help would be so much appreciated! Thanks so much!!

it's a USB connection ? have you removed all the software, powered down the PC, connected it back up restarted the PC and see if it finds it?

Have you also tried uninstalling the printer then reinstalling the software before you plug the printer in?
