Blue Screen when connecting my digital camera
I am recieving a blue screen when I connect my Kodak Digital Camera. I am currently using Windows XP SP2. The error says
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
HWFProt.sys
Stop: 0x00000050 (0x800500D6, 0x00000000, 0xf76ac218, 0x00000000)
any help you could lend would be appriciated.

Is this a new problem? Did this camera work previously? What is the connection? USB?
Stop 0x00000050 or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Do a search on your machine: start | search | hwfprot.sys
What is the full path to this driver? Can you determine what program that it is associated with?
Some sort of protection software I would imagine.
-
I have had the camera for almost a year now, and it's only been in the last month that this has happened. Yes it is a USB connection.
I did the search and the location is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
I don't know what the driver is associated with.

Do you have either:
Hywave's Windows Expert
or
Super Utilities
I see those programs using an hwfprot.sys
If you have these are they new to your system?
-
Yes I have Super Utilities.. and that might have been installed around the time I was having problems. Should I uninstall that?
-
It is worth the try.
Hard to say if that is the only issue but if hwfprot.sys is the source of your issue removing it would be a first step.
If that resolves the issue we can try to discover what is the source of the conflict.

Ok I uninstalled Super Utilities and then did a search to make sure that HWFProt.sys wasn't on my system anymore and it's gone. It still won't let me transfer the pictures to my computer though. When I plug the camera in a box appears that says
Retrieving Device contents but then does not recognize that the device is connected

A quick first thought would be to reboot the computer. This maybe necessary to clear the settings.

It worked! Thanks so much for the help!!! I really appreciate it! I will be comin back to this site for all my computer problems (hopefully not too many). Again thanks for the help

Glad it worked!
If you paid for that program I would suggest contacting them with this issue:
