Just I tried to repair my OS by using winxp CD.
Now there is trouble that my OS always tells me "setup is being restarted......
and then this machine restarts itself again and again.....BUT IT CAN'T SKIP THIS SENTENCE
ABOVE TO LET ME GET MY DESKTOP. I still can't get normal screen to do any operation except
BIOS and advanced option. I think something must be wrong Please help me,Please give me further instruction

What exactly did you do to repair? The Repair Install?

That error is indicating that the XP CD is still being detected after it is no longer needed.

In the Repair Install the CD should be removed after the @ 40min. Install.

Do not press any key if asked to Press any key to boot the CD.

The more detail that you can provide as to step by step what you are doing would help us help.

Now most things are Ok because I reinstall my OS.
One question is that I have no way to make sure my DSL modem is Ok. when I try to install
modem driver, this process always interrupts
SO I CAN'T install my online DSL software.
I NEED instruction from experts.yhank you very much!

What is the make & model of the modem? Is it a USB connection?

What is the source of the driver you are trying? Do you get an error message or what exactly happens?

Is your modem detected in the Device Manager? Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

Call your Internet Service Provider, they should be able to walk you through reinstalling the modem and their DSL software. You are paying for the service why not take advantage of their free tech support?
