My computer has begun to constantly crash during gameplay and sometimes internet surfing. THis is a new problem for me that began once I reformatted my computer for the first time several months ago. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

How does it crash? Freeze? Restart? This has been happening for several months? Any error messages?

    Change this setting:
rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart

Then post the full error message.

Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

    Also:
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the
    Debugging Tools from Microsoft
    2) Download and install this
    debugwiz
    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

That is most likely hardware. Can you restart right away with no problem?

Have you ever cleaned the inside? Do you have heat monitors?

You still might have errors in the Event Viewer as well as dump logs.

Also check the Device Manager: RT click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager or go to start/run/ devmgmt.msc for any "!"

Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?

mmc.exe is the Microsoft Management Console application and is used to display various management plug-ins accessed from the Control Panel, such as the Device Manager.

This process should only be running if you have the Device Manager etc. open.

This GUID is very close to yours:
GUID: BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E = "Network Connection Manager Class". A newsgroup post suggests that this may be caused by a corrupted driver or a RAM-problem. Check if you're using the latest drivers for the hardware components."

After i restart shut down manually, if i try to turn on the computer again too quickly it just freezes with a black screen. The computer is running, but no picture.

I also could not find any dmp files

I am sensing a heat issue with your graphics card. Or perhaps just the driver.

Are you familiar with opening the case? Check that the fan is clean & running. Try running with the case open.

    What card do you have?

Go to Start/Run/ dxdiag | Display

    What is the Device listed?

I have a Radeon 9600 Series graphics card.

I have a built in thermometer in my computer, its consistently reads from the 70's - mid 80's.

Is it an ATI version? If so I would try the latest Catalyst here:

    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=293

Making sure to uninstall your current version:

The Catalyst Uninstaller is an optional download. We recommend using this utility to uninstall any previously installed Catalyst drivers prior to installation.

70/80 Celcius I presume. Is that just in the case or a specific location? Hard drive? CPU? Graphics?

That is quite warm! Especially if it is a general location.

Have you opened it up & cleaned & checked fans etc.?
