I'm having a very serious problem with my main desktop computer that has left it useless. I run Windows XP professional and it starts the bootup and gets to the load screen but right when it would usually head to desktop, it freezes and goes to a screen(Blue I think with a black outline). I have tried F8ing to safe mode but any option i choose it begins list files and freezes again, before it gets to the desktop. Any option I choose it does the same thing, and I have tried to repair install using the install CD, but it freezes before it loads the disk. This is a very frustrating problem, and since I an running an old system, the compan will not help or replace it. Any thoughts?

Have you recently installed any new hardware or installed any new software? Updated any drivers or updated windows?

Have you tried to Boot from the CD?

Does your BIOS run correctly? Is your HDD seen?

What make is your HDD? You can find a diagnostic tool at their site.

And please, yes, list specs.
