PC wont switch off
Recently my PC hasn't been shutting off properly. This only happens on my file on windows XP, it switches off fine on the other files. When i go to switch it off nothing happens, i do the usual start>turn off computer>switch off, but then nothing happens. It does the same for loggin out. The only way i have been able to switch it off is by reseting the PC and then switching it off via the start menu. When i click switch off i see a box that comes up saying something about a file called "ccaap". At least i think its says that.
Thanks for any help.

have you recently installed any software on your user account? (before the problem started) if so, try un-installing it.... or you could try a system restore, this will not delete any files, but it will restore your computer's settings to the specified date, chose a date before the problem started.
Let us know how you get on,
Mike

ccapp is part of Norton's auto protection.
I am unclear what the switch off feature is that you speak of?
The only shut down feature that I am aware of is the start menu | shut down.
Where is this switch off coming from?
As to general issues this page covers the basics:
