confused am i, logo's, added pictures and borders dissappear shortly after openin a document in Word. I used to see them good in Office 2K, but Xp just don't show it right. They are still there in the document when I save,cuz I still them when reopenin. Maybe Sp2 is doin it, I heard folks don't like the bugs in Sp2 but it comes with Xp I just loaded, ain't got no choice less someone knows different. Please help

Check your Tools | Options. There is a selection for using picture placeholders to speed up the screen display and scrolling.

SP2 had some conflicts with 3rd party software (non-microsoft) when it was released a year & a ¼ ago.
There should be no issues at this point in time. You should also have all the subsequent critical updates from Windows Update as well as any from Word. Which version of Office are you running?

There is also the possibility that the issue is with your computer's display settings. Do you have any other image issues outside of Word?

Thanx for replying, I am runnin Office Xp, until I loaded Sp2, there wasn't any issues. I have just added a new graphics card which I spent time loading all drivers for it. All games and graphical design applications are working great with really good res' so I don't think that is the problem. But since I posted this thread, I have managed to get word to display pictures on occasions, but it is tempremental, I never know if it is goin to work. This is the first time I have loaded Sp2 and I am thinking I might go back to Sp1 to see if that clears it up.

have you tried re-installing office and any important updates available?

Also try from Word | Help | Detect & Repair

Going back to SP1 will outdate your security settings by a couple of years. It might be a curious test to see if it resolves this issue but it is not a good fix.

Did you install SP2 with all anti-virus software turned off?

I would suggest first trying the Detect & Repair & or as madmikejt12 suggested reinstall Office.

Guy's thanx for the suggestions. I have reloaded word and the problem has gone away. Just for reference, I forgot to switch off anti-virus and my firewall before loading sp2. As it happens, everything else is working great.
