This is not a constant problem,but every now and then when i boot up, my modem is not recognised.So i have to restart my system.A restart normally sorts it out but it has failed on afew times.
I,m running a amd sempron 2600,512mb,gforce 400/mx.
My ISP is tiscali 1MB unlimited

Hi Mike,i have reinstalled the driver a number of time's to no avail.But i have not searched for a newer version,so i will try that.Dunno why but your post reminded me

ok, is it wireless?
sometimes i get a similar problem with my wireless keyboard, dunno why.

is this a recent problem or have you had it for a while?

you may also want to see if it is enabled on startup:
1) click start
2) click run
3) type in: msconfig
4)go to startup and make sure your modem device is enabled
