    Question Icon positions

    Minor point, I know, but how can I keep icon settings for windows such as My Documents and Control Panel, for example in control panel I want them to be shown as 'icons' not 'tiles' so I switch them to the icon option and click refresh, but once I have restarted the computer the go back to being tiles again, a bit annoying.

    Also things such as putting folders in the My documents window in a particular customised order, so not necessarily by name or size just in an order i want them, again i put them in the order I want click refresh and once I've restarted they go back to were they want to be not were I put them.

    Any ideas?

    There is a regedit @ kelly's Line 54

    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

    You can do the same manually:

    If XP Home...
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
    NoSaveSettings
    REG_DWORD
    0 = Save settings
    1 = Do not save settings

    If XP Pro...
    Start | Run | Type: gpedit.msc | OK |
    Navigate to...
    Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Desktop\
    Don't save settings at exit
    Disable/Enable
