    windows explorer problem on ONE ACCOUNT ONLY????

    Alright, i'm stuck here and need the help of trusty DAL helpers.... (thanks again jephree for all your help in the past). So heres the deal;

    Windows Explorer encountered a problem and goes to usual error reporting screen immediately upon restart. Was using computer when this happened, and I believe it might be due to downoading a malicious file???

    The strange thing is that the guest account works completely fine, other than it has limited acces, so using task manager and the run command on the messed up account, I added an additional computer administrator account and that is what I am on now. I ran Norton and AVG and Ad-aware. Norton found a couple .exe's that it could not delete, I went in and manually deleted them. UCMORE and another installer of some kind. So right now my comptuer appears to be working fine but even in Safe Mode on hte other account, Windows explorer encounters problem message appears and I cant see anything but the desktop image. Accessing the Task manager it is clear that there are upwards of 35 processes running, some of which should not be there....and when I try to end those processes it tells me access is denied??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Only other known issue with my computer is that the clock has been missing time for awhile now and I believe I need to get a new battery so somehow I need to figure out which battery I need and pick one up.

    Please direct me towards a possible solution to this extremely annoying windows explorer problem. Thank you very much for your time

    Is this Home or Pro? Is the account in question the built-in Admin account? If not perhaps this may help:
    How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile:

    As to the battery (if you don't have the manual) try to ID the motherboard & search for the manual online.

    Belarc lists the board under Main circuit Board:

    Or just open up the case.
