    Symbols...

    Hi,

I'm a student and lectures get put up on the internet.

The thing is when I open them all the symbols from the equations are strange things. I what I think is probably ment to be pi, theres a little car instead. Is there any way to sort this out?

The lectures are all power point presentaions and I have a viewer rather than the actual program

    Thanks

what is the viewer? have you tried on a different computer (could be mistake that the people writing these lectures made) also, do you get a choice to download, open in PPT viewer or open as html (or any other options)?

It's just the power point viewer I downloaded from microsoft, I don't have office or any of that stuff.

It's not the lectures, noone else is having the sme problem.

I'm not sure what options I get when I download them, I always save them on my computer. I'll check next time I use it (the sites down at the moment).

I wonder if the version of the Viewer needs to match the version of the Writer?

Also it looks like a Font confusion. Sounds like you're seeing Wingdings.

I would set your Font to Tahoma. Under Format | Font (in PowerPoint).

You could also try setting XP to Classic Theme:
