I am getting the same error, and not sure whether it has to do with RAM or WinXP, or quite possibly both.

    My experience is as follows:

Got a Dell Dimension 2400 delivered......came with 128MB of RAM upgraded to 512MB to make a total of 640MB. Dell did the install.

Had the issue initially. Noticed that when I change the option in Winxp to give me the 2000 look, I received the BSoD as well, so thus my theory as to why it could be both causing the error. Changed back to WinXP settings and noticed that I would still receive the BSoD on random occurences, approx once a day. Mainly when I have multiple applications running simutaneously I notice the issue. But not a problem with my laptop, or my home PC, that was built by purchasing individual parts. Goes to show you......

This would cause me to be extremely paranoid and created a bad habit of having to SAVE documents every couple of minutes in the fear that Dell would go to H#ll, and I would lose all my work.

Anyways....so I received the BSoD twice today. Didn't lose too much, but just a hassle having to restart every now and again.

Just wanted to share my experience...havent' been able to figure out a solution yet...so any help at this point would be appreciated.

What is the exact error you receive? Is it always the same? Change this setting to receive an error page:

rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart

    Also:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the
    Debugging Tools from Microsoft
    2) Download and install this
    debugwiz
    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

If you suspect the RAM run this diagnostic:
