Can you describe in more detail exactly what happens?

When you are surfing the machine Blue Screens? Restarts?

If restarting please change this setting:
rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart


Also see if you can find more dump logs here:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.

Then:

1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

Of the 2 that you posted the first appears to be a driver & the 2nd although possibly a driver also possibly hardware.

Hopefuly other logs will provide more detail.

Most of us here agree that AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is a very good anti-virus program with regular updates that is free for personal use. You can get it from http://www.grisoft.com

yes, avg is now my favorate.... id chose that over norton even if norton was free!!!!

Hi Mark,

I have a similar problem with an almost identicle dump as per your first one. I too am running AVAST antivirus. Although I have been running it OK forsome time until this weekend when all of a sudden my computer has started to crasj every now and then.

WHat led you to work out that AVAST was the problem?
