    Angry keyboard failure

    Dear Sirs

I hope u can help me, Im not sure if this is a hardware, driver or software problem...

Im using a Japanese 2005 SOTEC laptop (2.8, 512, 40) presumably designed for the japanese windows o.s. but i'm running english windows xp. it was running smoothly until recently when without warning the top right hand letters of my keyboard changed themselves to numbers, i.e so when i press 'p' the keyboard types '0', 'i' types '5' etc etc. This is obviously proving very annoying!

i think perhaps its a driver failure or hardware problem because i was able to use my keyboard before any software was installed on the laptop. Any ideas atall on how to rectify this annoyance would be much appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please get in touch

    Cheers

Just as a quick first step check your Language settings via:

Control Panel | Regional & Language Options

Also check the keyboard under the Control Panel as well as Device Manager: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc
